Grease stars John Travolta and Olivia

Newton-John will return as Danny and Sandy

to mark the film's 40th anniversary next year.

Olivia, 68, confirmed the pair are discussing

ideas for the reunion – though she did not say

what format it would take or how many

appearances there would be.

Speaking before collecting the Icon Award at

the Fame Awards at Hard Rock Live in Las

Vegas, she said: "We are thinking up ways.

Nothing to announce yet.

"Forty years anniversary of Grease, which I

can't believe. Time goes so fast. It is so

exciting."

But it could be one of her last major shows as

she is considering retiring after 50 years in

showbiz.

Before collecting the Icon Award at the

inaugural Las Vegas Fame Awards at Hard Rock

Live, she said: "As time goes on I think of

doing less and having more time off."

But she admitted: "Every year for the last 20

years, I thought I was retiring and then

somebody would say, 'How about this?' and it's

like, 'Oh, that looks fun,' or 'How about this?'

"Things that I would never think about."

News of the reunion will delight millions of

fans of the cult 1978 High School film.

Olivia, who was born in Cambridge before

growing up in Melbourne, says that her voice

needs to remain exercised to continue.

"For me, when I sing, I have to warm up. You

have to keep that muscle toned and that's

important and I love to sing.

"Singing is an expression of yourself, so I love

singing and performing. The travelling thing

gets a bit tiring of course, but as I say, I have a

very lucky life.

"I'm a fortunate person. I have a wonderful

life and career and nice people want to talk to

me.

"What's to be said? I think staying positive is

very important for good health, because your

emotional health and what you think creates

your life, so what you think creates your life,

so you need to think positive thoughts and

healing thoughts."

She admits her marriage, which will be ten

years next summer, to businessman John

Easterling, 64, is a key factor in her happiness.

She said: "It's the best thing ever. I have the

most wonderful husband and a fantastic

marriage, and I'm very, very lucky to have

met him."

Olivia was honoured for her contribution to

Vegas culture having performed her dozens of

times and enjoyed a residency at the

Tropicana.

She said: "I love it here, yeah. It's very nice.

Will I have another residency?

"I am not sure. Who knows what happens."

Grease cost just $5m to make but earned

almost $400m at the box office in 1978

helped by its famous soundtrack which

catapulted Olivia to global fame.
